INTRODUCTION
In the Kingdom of Cambodia, there are seven estates :
- Chamkar Andong Rubber Plantation
- Boeung Ket Rubber Plantation
- Memot Rubber Plantation
- Chup Rubber Plantation
- Peam Chang Rubber Plantation
- Krek Rubber Plantation are situated/located in Kampong Cham province
- Snuol Rubber Plantation is situated in Kratie province.
One of the seven estates mentioned above is Memot Rubber Plantation Co., Ltd. and it is belonged to TTY Agricultural Plant Development Co., Ltd. The total of its area is approximately 9,275.02 hectares, for the production of natural rubber for the supply to the processing factory; and the rubber processing factory for the production of rubber latex.
Memot Rubber Plantation Co., Ltd. is situated in the north- east of Mekong River. It runs along National Highway No. 6 with 89 km from Kampong Cham province and 213 km from Phnom Penh.
In 1926 it belonged to French Rubber Plantation, called La Society Indochinoise des Plantations Reunies de Memot, SPRM).
After January 07,1979 the above Company was under supervision of the State, and the following years it has been changed as follows:
- In 1982 it was called SAMAKY Company.
- In 1994 it was called Memot Rubber Plantation Company.
- In 1999 it was called Memot Rubber Plantation; and
- In June 2008 the State has transferred the whole management of Plantation to the private Company, called Memot Rubber Plantation Co., Ltd.
